Anyone know a software engineer who might be interested in collaborating on such a project?

The iPad Concept Journal
The iPad Concept Journal App allows you to quickly grab inspiring images, quotes, and maps from the Internet and freely arrange them within an infinite library of virtual Journals, custom designed by you. You can accompany your found information and images with typed text, freehand drawings, and photos taken with your iPad internal camera* or iPhone. Best of all you can share the pages of your Journals as image rich PDF documents.
The following mock-ups include a description of some of the features to be available in the proposed iPad Concept Journal App.
Create your own unique JournalsStarting with a basic black journal you can easily customize the appearance of it's cover by clicking on "Create Custom Cover" button and importing your own image. These can come from your own iPad photos, the Internet, or photos you take with you iPad's camera*
Your imported images can be resized and cropped to fit your own sense of style.
Once created your new iPad Concept Journal will live in an expanding Journal Library where you can easily access and arrange your journals.Simple Straightforward Tools
The goal of the iPad Concept Journal App is to make the creation of media rich notes and documents as intuitive as possible. When in the middle of research, or just pulling together reference, you don't want the tools to get in your way. The iPad Journal App has only what you need to quickly and conveniently gather and save those words and images that inspire you.

Drag & Drop Directly from the Browser
Turning your iPad on it's side accesses Gather Mode. Select the Web Browser icon and a Browser Window will appear on the left side of the screen. Drag images directly from the Browser window onto your journal pages. Images can be Cropped, Scaled, and have borders added to them here or in vertical Edit Mode.
Map BrowserBring Maps into your Journal by selecting the Map Browser, searching for a location and dragging the visual portion of the Map onto your Journal page. Once there you can crop and scale your Map, applying any of the border effects you like, just as you can with the imported Photos.

Grab Text from the Browser
You can enter Text onto any Journal page in Edit Mode, or Select text within a web page and Drag & Drop it directly onto your page. Once there the text is completely editable.
Sketch Directly onto Your Journal PageUsing the Pen tool you can Draw and Write into you Journal page, or on top of you gathered images. You can choose from a pallet of colors and pen sizes.
Pages can then be saved or eMailed as PDF documents.
If you know of anyone with Apple development skills who might be interested in such a project I would love to talk with them. :)

Try Evernote! I believe some versions (perhaps ipad?) you can draw "directly in" your notes, but otherwise it is FABULOUS for collecting and sorting images with all the folders and tags you could imagine. It also syncs across devices and you can access your files via any browser as well.
I've been using it for a year or two-ish and it's very good for keeping track of ideas.
(It's just evernote.com)
Hey, Don-
These concepts are awesome!
I think we might be able to give you what you want.
Can you send me an e-mail me so that we don't have to talk here?
Thanks!
