Nutcracker Ornaments!

You just never know what the day will bring. In 1997 I had the pleasure of designing a new Nutcracker set for the Eugene Opera Company, and although it has shown a lot of wear these past 13 years, it is still in use today. This morning I found out that gift ornaments were being made for sale this next holiday season, and I got to see the initial prototypes.

These two ornaments are based on conceptual costume sketches I had created for the two main characters. I have to say that it is always a pleasure to see your work live beyond its original purpose.
